The Xahau Ledger’s primary purpose is to add smart contract capabilities to the XRPL ecosystem. XRPL Labs is currently in the process of releasing a comprehensive whitepaper detailing the functionalities of the Xahau Ledger.

The Vision for the Smart Contract Sidechain

In a recent update, Wietse Wind, the founder of XRPL Labs, revealed collaborations with renowned entities such as GateHub, Alloy Networks, and EvernodeXRPL. These collaborations have led to the publication of the Xahau whitepaper, highlighting the potential of smart contracts powered by the XRP Ledger.

Wind envisions these smart contracts as key solutions to everyday challenges and expresses unwavering commitment to the XRP Ledger ecosystem. He emphasizes building for the entire ecosystem and creating a multi-chain XRPL Protocol ecosystem.

Additionally, Wind hints at future updates to the Xumm wallet, indicating support for multiple XRPL Protocol networks, including XRPL Mainnet and Xahau. He also suggests that Xahau may become operational before the end of the year.
